My name is Annita and I am a patient at Sahara Hospice. Let me tell you that I have the best nurse, Samson, and Wendy, my CNA. I have stage 4 lung cancer and I am completely dependent on these two people. I live alone, I have no family, my only son died 11 months ago and these two give me so much attention and love that I don't feel hopeless anymore. I have a new family and I am proud of them. My brother and I were having a difficult time deciding to have my mother in hospice. After talking with Sonia I knew we had the people. Everyone who cared for my mom was so kind to her and helpful for me. Jackie cared for her personal needs washed her hair, bathed her and kept her clean and fresh. I didn't think my mom would like it but she took to Jackie right away. Something about her gentle nature and friendly conversations that really won my mom over. Roxanne took care of her as well making her feel special with the sweet manicures. Sonia was so wonderful for my mother making sure she was not in any pain. Things can change quickly and Sonia was always ready to answer my questions and adjust to my mom's needs. She let me know I could get in touch with her at any time. That in itself was a huge comfort for me. I just can't say enough good things about Sahara. Prayers were answered when they can into our lives.
My mom entered hospice care after it was suggested by the hospital doctor. We decided on Sahara Hospice as we had seen their staff around the assisted living where mom was and they were highly recommended by the Director there. It was our first time dealing with a hospice care company but the team of Sonia, Jackie and Terrie were very professional and kind as we navigated the difficult and stressful weeks. They were always on time for scheduled care and available by phone during the times we weren’t expecting them but had questions. Mom felt very comfortable with the care team - as did we. If you’re looking for a hospice care company, I do not think you will be disappointed selecting Sahara.
My mom is getting excellent care.
Her nurse comes to visit her and checks her vital signs, reorders prescription medications, personal supplies, chats with her to see how she is feeling.
Nurse Wendy is super sweet, helps mom with showers 3 days a week so I can continue working. One less task I have to fit into my day.
She also has a manicurist that comes once a month to make her nails sparkle. I love the pampered approach to home health care. Glad we chose Sahara for my mom.
