At Sahara Hospice Care, patients fighting life-limiting diseases can live the rest of their lives comfortably and preferably at home or at our facility depending on their comfort choice.
When a doctor or physician certifies/declares that a person may have six months or less of life time, the patient meets the eligibility for hospice care. The hospice and palliative care professionals can take over their medical care if patients and their families decides to proceed ahead with hospice services.
Any certified hospice care provider (in Houston Texas, or elsewhere in US) must offer four levels of care. Depending on the patient’s condition, all levels may be required within a short or relatively long duration.
We offer all four levels of hospice care at Saharafacilities in Houston:
Level 1: Hospice Care In Home
In home Hospice care is also termed as ‘routine home care’. This is the most basic levels of hospice medical care.
Patients living in their homes or nursing facilities and show positive signs of recovery are offered the following services by Sahara Hospice:
- Part-Time Home Nursing
- Physical & Occupational Therapy
- Speech-Language Pathology
- On-call Supportive Medical Care
- Social Worker Assistance
- Grief Counseling
- Medical Home Equipment & Supplies
Level 2: Continuous Home Hospice Care
In situations where patients experience pain frequently and severely, we provide continuous palliative care at home. These can involve recurring panic attacks, respiratory problems, and vomiting.
A hospice nurse from our team will stay for one third of the day with the patient to look after them.
Level 3: Inpatient Hospice Care
In our inpatient facility, patients remain under the supervision of palliative nurses round the clock.
They may be experiencing the same symptoms as people being treated with continuous hospice care or slightly more severe ones.
The Sahara Hospice inpatient facility is equipped with all the necessary palliative medicine, and patients can be mentally at ease under our 24/7 medical care.
Level 4: Inpatient Hospice Respite Care
Every hospice nurse of Sahara Hospice Care works tirelessly to provide maximum comfort to patients during hospice at home.
To ensure they tend to patients fully, a short break is needed.
Level 4 includes patients spending a few days at our inpatient facility to provide a respite to their primary hospice caregiver or family members.
At Sahara Hospice Care, patients’ needs at all levels are handled with utmost care and professionalism.
