National Rehabilitation Week -September

On September 13-19 this year we celebrate our annual national rehabilitation week. This awareness is to help acknowledge the help rehab centers across the globe who have helped others succeed again.

Why is National Rehabilitation Week important?
National rehabilitation week helps acknowledge all the rehab centers who have helped those people in need.
Spreading awareness to other on how important it is and how much it has impacted our community is what it’s all about.
History behind it
Back in World War I, there were a lot of female physical therapist who made physical therapy a thing. No one really knew of it and didn’t think much about it since the soldiers were always injured.
In 1976, was when the first week of rehabilitation week started off. From there in 1947, began Alcoholic rehabilitation act. This problem then became more recognized to the public.
Occupational therapy then became a thing. Everyone started realizing how important this was needed for the medical community.
Spreading awareness
National Rehabilitation Awareness week helps recognize the services that are provided by rehabilitation specialist. As the years go by more and more people need these services to better themselves.
New and improved techniques come upon the years, such as mental health being our number one priority.
Counseling is another main service that has helped tremendous amount of people as they face addiction and other mental health status.
